- Tom Magar and Ted Mirra have tied for first in the 19th Wild Card Open
- Hibiki Sakai and Johnson Moore drew their final game together, to share top place in the 30th Allegheny Chess Congress. Justin Talley, who is new to Pittsburgh chess but is now active in our Tuesday Wild Card Open as well, had a perfect 3-0 in the second section. Results
- Rachel Gologorsky, visiting from Florida, and Pittsburgh's own David Donohoe split 1st place (as well as their 2 games with each other) in the July 10th Blitz tournament. On a side note, your input is wanted - should a delay be used on these games, and should regular or quick USCF ratings be used to determine the times? Here's a crosstable, with times, as an example.
